Postdoc Position in Functional Genomics and Complex Auditory Processing

At least one postdoc position is available in the laboratories of Patrick Wong (cognitive neuroscientist) and Jing Zheng (molecular biologist) at Northwestern University. The position is funded by a high-risk/high-impact grant from the NIH to study the functional genomics of human communication, including complex auditory processing, language learning and their neural bases. Individuals from a broad array of disciplines are welcome to apply, especially those with experience in genetic methods who have strong quantitative skills. Background in cellular and molecular biology, neuroendocrinology, or learning and memory in animals is highly desirable. Willingness to learn/combine a multitude of interdisciplinary techniques to solve complex problems and the ability to think broadly is essential. Previous experience with human behavioral and neuroimaging research is not required. The position is open until filled. The Chicago area offers world-class metropolitan, suburban, and rural living possibilities within a 30-mile radius for individuals of diverse backgrounds and interests. Candidates should email CV to Patrick Wong (pwong at northwestern.edu). Visit our lab webpage for more information about our work.

Opportunities may also be available for:

Candidates with solid quantitative skills (e.g., substantial coursework in multivariate statistics, signal processing, physics, and biomedical engineering) are especially welcome. Please note that we are not looking for staff (non-PhD) research assistants at this time.

If you're interested in being a Work-Study Research Assistant (current undergraduate Northwestern students who qualify), please send your resume to Research Associate (chanhda at northwestern dot edu).

Prospective students for PhD (Comm Sci & Disorders or Neuroscience) and AuD studies should email Patrick Wong with resume/CV, GRE/MCAT scores, unofficial transcripts, and specific research interests.
