Welcome to the Communication Neural Systems Research Group at Northwestern University.

Our research concerns central auditory processing and neurophysiology, especially speech perception and learning, auditory skill levels and deficits, and interactions between speech and music. The primary goal is to identify possible underlying neurophysiologic principles governing complex auditory perception and learning for developing effective treatment programs for auditory and speech processing deficits and second language instructions.

We would especially like to acknowledge the current support of the National Science Foundation (BCS-0719666), the National Institutes of Health (R01DC008333, R21DC007468, R03HD051827 & R21DC009652) and Northwestern University.
