Cartooning, Carticature and Illustration
Caricature
For about three summers I worked as a caricature artist at Kaman's Art Shoppe's, at Six Flags Great Adventure theme park, in Jackson, NJ. It's basically the same as any carnival or street caricature artist's work; we had a bunch of stands around the park, and a bunch of easels at each stand, and during the busy times, people would gather round and watch us work. This often involved heckling, and little kids hanging on the back of your chair.
I was a "lead artist" there for the last two years, which is like a manager (and I had a name tag with red lettering on it, instead of the regular black).
I've also done caricatures and politcal cartoons for some newspapers and magazines, as well as for side jobs and parties whenever I can - so if you need some entertainment at a party or affair, I've do bar mitzvahs, weddings, and any other special occasions can thing of. If you're interested email me, and I can give you details. They make a great gift! (end shameful advertisement)

Cartooning and Comics
I served as treasurer of the Cartoonists' Association of
Rutgers for about a year, and was a member of the group throughout my
four years at Rutgers. We published lots of comics and artwork in
our magazine, john doe comics
which we usually put out every two weeks, distributed to all five
campuses of Rutgers University, and elsewhere when possible.
I draw some weird comics called Amuck (which has no consistent
theme or running characters) and Hangin' Wit
Karl (starring Karl Marx and his hip-hop krew) among others.
Illustration
I've also done quite a bit of freelance illustration work. I designed and illustrated hundreds of customized stimuli for use in some experimental psycholinguistic research, for several different people and project at the Rugters Center for Cognitive Science. The earlier stuff I did back in 98-99 was clip-art-type-stuff - black and white line drawings of people, objects, etc. More recently (2001-2002) I drew a whole slew of cartoon animals (in full cullah)- elephants, giraffes, raccoons, ducks, rabbits. . . - you name it. These were a lot more fun to do, and hopefully they did the job - keeping the interest of some little kid whose got a goofy eyetracker strapped to her noggin'.
Viewing some artwork
I know I should have some work up here but unfortunately I left most of it in New Jersey, so I probably won't get it up for a while. I'm always drawing more, so I'll try to scan some of the more recent stuff and post it soon.
If you're interested in seeing some of my work before then, email me and I'll get you some.
